Website Visitors

GEM collects non-personally-identifying information including the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. GEM's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how the Websites' visitors use each site. From time to time, GEM may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to GEM's websites choose to interact with the Websites in ways that require GEM to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that GEM gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we may ask customers who want to save or upload data to register with a username and email address on the Website. Those who engage in transactions with GEM may be asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, GEM collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the customer's interaction with GEM. GEM does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain activities.

In addition, we may combine non-personally-identifiable information with personally-identifiable information in a manner that enables us to attribute Website usage to an individual customer's computer or network. We do so, however, only for our own internal business purposes and will not share such combined data with third parties without your permission.

Aggregated Statistics

GEM may collect statistics which may be comprised of aggregated personally-identifying information about the behavior of visitors to its websites and customers of its services. GEM may display this statistical information publicly or provide it to others. However, GEM does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

GEM discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on GEM's behalf or to provide services available at GEM's websites and services, and (ii) have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees may be located outside of your home country; by using GEM's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. GEM will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, as described above, GEM discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, court order, or when GEM believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of GEM, third parties or the public at large.
